Chapter 23. Cry at the Hospital
Kate's POV
76 hours later...
"Her days are numbered! Mister. I'm just doing my work, your money means nothing here. We're dealing with life and death here," a man yelled, trying to convince someone. "Damn it! We've woken her up with our noises."
The man turned to me and touched a cable that looked white but transparent. I wondered where I was and intended to investigate. I could not move around as I wanted and as I always did. I felt extreme pain in my chest, spine, and leg.
The worst was my heart; it felt like something pressed it hard, then let go for some seconds, and when the pain decreased, it started to press it hard again. It was very painful and uncomfortable. It changed my breathing, and I think I was only able to breathe because they gave me oxygen.
"Hmm…mmm…ouch!!" I whispered, sounding like a dog in trouble.
"How do you feel?" the man who appeared to be a doctor approached and asked.
