Chapter 12. Spend the Night in My Bedchamber
Iris’ eyelids fluttered every time Adolphus blew over the injuries she had received. Her cheeks and ears were turning red because of that. She felt too exposed to him. But she could not go against his command.
“Did you ever get your wound treated?” Adolphus asked. Iris tilted her head and shook her head.
“You must take care of your body,” Adolphus said, and he saw the purplish bruises on the middle of her back. “Did they beat you up?” he inquired.
Iris turned silent and twiddled her fingers. “I thought if I ran away from my house, I would have a good life. But here too, I am facing the same issue,” Iris said with an upset tone.
“Don’t have too many expectations in your life,” Adolphus proclaimed, and continued to apply the gel to her other wounds. “It always betrays,” he stated.
