Chapter 13. Rare and Beautiful
After they finished their meals, Iris wondered where she would sleep. The chamber was large, so she could sleep even outside the bedchamber, in the living room. The only thing she needed was a thin blanket, and she would sleep on the floor.
When Adolphus asked her to follow him to the bedchamber, she refused. He turned to look at her and asked what was in her head.
Iris’ doe eyes tried to comprehend what he meant by that. Wasn’t he the one who was asking her to follow him to his bedchamber?
“Don’t you need a blanket? Come and take it from inside,” Adolphus said and walked ahead. It seemed to her that she annoyed him. She lowered her head and silently followed him.
Adolphus looked into the cupboard and took out a blanket. “This will do for the night,” he stated, and closed the cupboard. He walked up to Iris and handed her the blanket.
