Chapter 56. Friends

ADELINE’S POV

“I’m so sorry Adeline. Liam told me what happened. Are you okay?” Naomi asks as soon as she walks into my house. I place a smile on my face and rub her shoulders. I’m tired of people thinking I’m some heartbroken and fragile little thing, but I guess this is the price I pay for lying to everyone.

It’s Sunday, and I was supposed to go to church with Adrian, which comes as a huge surprise to me because I didn’t think someone like him would even bother believing in God since he’s a vile human being, but apparently, he’s catholic and he occasionally goes to church.

He called me this morning and said he had to cancel. He sounded very irritated and I know for sure something must have gone wrong. No matter though. I’m just glad I don’t have to spend time glued to his side today.

Since Adrian and I couldn’t hang out today and Dante said he had to work on something important today concerning his online business, I decided to invite Liam and Naomi
