Chapter 23. Another Day to Live: Naked Bath

The dark lightning in the sky changes to pink lightning. The pink lightning flashed continuously as the crescent moon disappeared ushering in another day with a bright sun.

Max rubs his bleary eyes as he rose to his feet. “Good morning love,” he greeted making his way to Jasmine who has been staring outside the window.

She has been up for quite a while trying to figure out what should be their next move. From behind Max wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheek. “Hope you slept well?” she whispered to him.

“This is a hell of a place. I slept with an eye open.” If not for Jasmine’s persuasion, Max could have preferred not to sleep in the log house. Besides the stench in the log house, he’s concerned about their safety. In the land of the dead, nowhere is safe.

“At least we should stay here until we figure out things.” Jasmine swirled. Leaving the log house might be a mistake because they don’t know what awaits them outside the log house. T
