Chapter 29. No Way Out: Warm Arms

“Hello, Jasmine. We meet in person,” said a refined voice.

The voice came from behind the walls. Jasmine and Max flicked around. They made a profile of a man dressed in a flowing red robe with sea nymph ears walking out from the wall. His skin was glossy and his magma-red hair crashed over his shoulder.

“Stay away from us!” Max yelled as he pulled Jasmine behind him.

With just a wave of his hand, the mysterious man flings Max away. “I wasn’t talking to you,” he said.

With a wide-eyed surprise look drawn to the mysterious man, Jasmine asked in a quivering voice, “You are her bride, aren’t you?”

The sight of the mysterious man terrified her as if she was meant to be loyal to him. This often happens when the serpent goddess’ groom appears to lay claim on anyone who was once under his bride’s control. By merely setting eyes on him, the victim will be subjected to him.
