Chapter 9. Just Some Coffee

Anna stared at the screen of her phone for a few seconds until the sound of the opening of the front door pulled her out of her mind. She placed the device into her pocket quickly and breathed out a shaky breath. 

At first, she thought that it was the guy coming back but then it clicked in her mind that he had told her that Zac would be coming back any minute. 

She walked out of the room and saw that it was the demon king. He had a few bags in his hands, and they were filled with groceries. He closed the door and then made sure to lock it.

“I thought I locked the door, how did you get in?” She asked him as she followed him to the kitchen. 

“I have a key, I took one from the lobby before leaving for the store earlier,” He replied, having no clue what had happened in the apartment earlier.
