Chapter 13. Emotions

Anna hesitated for a moment before answering. Her heart thumped in her chest and she stood upright, staring at the phone as if it was going to explode if she did not answer it. 

She knew that the conversation would be about where she was. But there was so much running that she could do, so taking a deep breath, she slid her finger across the screen and brought the phone to her ear. 

“Hi, Mom,” Anna said, trying to keep her voice steady. 

“Anna! Finally, you answer. I have been worried sick. I called your uni and when they told me that you transferred to another city, I almost had a heart attack.”She chuckled at her words. “I told your father and brother and they were like, there is no way you would do something like that.”
