Chapter 16. Confessions and Kisses
Anna stared into the eyes of the Mexican boy for a few seconds more than she should have before she finally exhaled sharply and removed her arm from his grip.
“What do you want?”
“Anna…um, are you okay?” Carlos asked as he continued to stare at her. He hated that she had a look of hurt. And he felt that it was because of what he and the girls were doing not too long ago.
It honestly meant nothing, and that was the truth. But it may have made Anna feel a kind of way. And he did not want her to feel anything but happy, especially on her birthday.
Anna cleared her throat. “I’m fine. I was just heading upstairs because I wanted to get something,” she told him.
“Are you sure?” he asked in response. “Because it looked like you were trying to get away from me.”
Anna scoffed lightly. “So you’re trying to say that I’m lying?” She folded her arms on her chest.
