Chapter 15. The Birthday Party

The vibes were immaculate. The music blaring from the sound system was loud and good. It was obvious that the DJ, who was Anna’s brother, had very good taste when it came to playing music at a party.

The front door was opened because people kept coming in. Anna was excited, but that was not all; she also had a lot of anxiety.

“Wow, Anna, this is huge,” Gill said to her friend, trying to speak above the music.

“I know, right?” Anna replied, smiling very happily. After all her years in high school, this was the first time for her to feel this seen. It was thrilling.

“Happy birthday,” someone said to Anna. It was a dark-skinned guy that had his hair dyed pink. He was attractive and had a British accent.

“Thank you very much,” Anna replied nicely. She did not know the boy at all, and neither did she know most of the people at her party, but she knew that they all went to her school.
