Chapter 122. Some Hope
The sheer size of the mansion made her feel small, but she clenched her fists and straightened her shoulders. She wasn’t here to be intimidated.
She had a mission and that was to get Vito’s help no matter what.
The front doors swung open before she could even knock. A tall man in a black suit stood in the doorway, his expression neutral but his eyes sharp.
He took one look at Lorenzo, then shifted his gaze to Anna.
Lorenzo didn’t wait for an introduction. “She’s here to see Vito.”
The man’s gaze lingered on Anna for a moment before he stepped aside. “Follow me.”
Anna exchanged a glance with Lorenzo before stepping inside. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of expensive cologne and aged wood.
The floors gleamed under the grand chandelier, and large paintings of men she assumed were Vito’s ancestors lined the walls.
