Chapter 26. A Difficult Choice

Anna could not believe that she had just heard that. Her heart even skipped a beat, and she felt joy fill her. But that joy was quickly pushed aside when she was reminded about the demon king’s favor or rule.

“Carlos…” she said his name in a breathy way. And chuckled a bit when she saw that he was still staring at the wall so he wouldn’t see her in the towel.

“Anna… please,” he begged her. He had tried. He had tried to forget about her and put her behind him, but it seemed impossible.

He had even got together with his ex the night of Anna’s birthday and was just reminded of why he had broken up with her in the first place. Now, sleeping with her made him feel like crap like he had done something that was just sick.

Anna let a few seconds of silence rest between them before finally speaking. “Okay, wait for me in the living room downstairs, and let me wear some clothes. We will talk then.”
