Chapter 3. The First Kiss
Zac’s feet pounded against the pavement as he ran, his determination propelling him forward. He couldn’t let Anna slip away without a fight; she would leave the state soon, and he needed to do something about it.
He had only talked about his feelings; maybe he needed to show her that he was serious. He just could not it there and do nothing.
The campus blurred around him, his mind laser-focused on finding her. He weaved through the early morning joggers, ignoring their puzzled glances. He knew exactly where she might be headed next. At least, that was what he believed.
Anna, on the other hand, was oblivious to the turmoil she had left behind. She continued her run, trying to clear her mind. She had always known that leaving would be hard, but she hadn’t expected Zac’s reaction to shake her so deeply.
