Claire’s POV
“I did nothing, love,” he said, but I looked away from his troubled gaze. “I was in Hamburg for nearly one and a half months, tangled in a court case,” he said sadly as I took in the information.
“What rubbish! I saw you with my own eyes,” I told him. I wasn’t accepting any of his alibis.
“You didn’t see me. I was away, I told you. You’ve seen Jordan and his fiancée, Jennifer. He looks exactly like me. He was having problems with Jennifer. With their wedding two weeks away, Mom sent them here in my absence to patch up. So they stayed here for nearly a month and a half and returned home yesterday,” he said and my jaw dropped and I just stared at him incredulously.
All this time, I was so wrong about Jason. I should have confirmed with aunt Sarah before coming to conclusions.
