Chapter 47. His Admission
I walk towards the bed and stop when I see a box on the side. Opening it, I stare down, confused by the contents. I take out the phone and place it down, followed by the keys and a bank card. Turning, I look towards the door. Was this all sorted because he already felt like I planned to leave?
A passport? How did he manage to get a picture of me? I want to laugh, but I don't. Picking up the phone, I glance at it. The thing feels alien in my hand. It's been too long since I had one. It's been far too long since I spoke to friends; I don't even know where they are anymore.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, I look through the phone, confused about what to do with it. I don't want to search for old friends until I have decided whether I am staying or not. To contact them and then decide to stay means I likely won't talk to them again.
