Chapter 49. His Actions
Turning, I walk through the house to the other side. I don't know what his plan is, but Dario shouldn't be doing it. Stepping into the room, I glance at them. Dario looks at me. I see tears in his red and swollen eyes; he's been crying. Our mother, however, is sitting smiling like she doesn't care he's hurting.
"Mother, go to bed." She turns to me and I see she is about to argue. "Now!" I shout, raising my voice, and I watch as she stands and walks off. "What are you doing, Dario?" Sitting opposite him, I wait. His eyes go to the door where our mother went. "Dario." My word is firm, drawing his attention back to me.
"Fixing shit!" He screams at me. Sighing, I nod. "You’re all acting like she is our mother; she isn't Marco. She never was. The fucking maids and soldiers were more of a mother than her!" He cries, and I know he's right.
"I said I would sort it." I reason.
"You have said that for years, Marco! You told me when you took over
