Chapter 48. My Admission

I stand waiting, watching as she processes what I have told her. All I can do now is hope she agrees because if she doesn't, I may just go back on my word and not let her leave. Then she will despise me for life. I can't let her go. However, I can't lose her, and I can't give her up. She's my one weakness, I don't know how, but she is. She's a weakness I'm happy to have.

I clench my jaw, trying not to push down all the thoughts and feelings I have building within me. Yet it's easier to hide it all and pretend I feel nothing. Something tells me feeling nothing right now will make her decide to leave. I know I have mastered hiding everything and coming across as cold, without any emotions. I know she is the opposite, so right now, I need to be like her and show it. Even if I want to run and hide from the reality of this.
