Chapter 207. Caught in the Dark

“It’s alright. I was told you traveled outside the city.”

Mr. White isn’t aware of what’s happening in New Orleans. Mrs. Walker made up her mind not to tell him. She believes he might be heartbroken if he finds out and might end up breaking up with her. She made her daughter Jane swear to keep it a secret. It was a hard call for Mrs. Walker to make. Just like Jane, she can’t afford to lose her boyfriend, Mr. White. It’s too early for a breakup with Mr. White.

Jane isn’t cool with the way Daniel is blocking her from knowing what happened and where he was taken. She reluctantly walks into the ward. After greeting Mr. White, she takes a seat next to his bed.

Being very observant, Mr. White saw the sadness on her face. He whispered into Daniel. “Why is she sad?”

“It’s nothing,” Daniel whispered back putting on a fake smile.
