I hesitated, caught in a whirlwind of confusion and fear, unsure of what to do next. Seven’s eyes, filled with a desperate plea, urged me to trust him, yet my instincts screamed caution, warning me of the dangers lurking in the shadows.
Fear and uncertainty wrestled within me, battling for control over my thoughts. My heart pounded violently in my chest, each beat echoing my rising panic.
“Who is that?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, trembling slightly as I spoke.
Seven’s jaw clenched tightly, a flicker of tension crossing his face. “It’s Sean, my brother. He’s here to help,” he replied, though his voice carried an edge that hinted at deeper complexities.
The SUV door swung open, and a tall, brooding figure emerged, casting an imposing silhouette against the dimming light. His piercing gaze swept over me, assessing, before settling on Seven with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine.
