Chapter 5
Shantelle’s POV
“You are avoiding me,” Roman slipped his hand around my waist.
I leaned into him unconsciously but leveled him with a look.
“I had to. Principal Moore is watching us like a duck.”
Roman had the nerve to look ashamed. “I am sorry. I didn’t think about how this affected you.”
I caressed his cheek and admired the way his eyelashes fluttered across his cheekbone as he savored my touch.
Roman wears his emotions on his face, and it’s tiresome to keep up with that.
“So…” he trailed off.
I stared at him, waiting for him to say something, but he kept looking at me with that pitiful gaze. I heaved a sigh.
“I need words, Roman,” I said.
He nodded like a lost puppy, making me pity him, “Are we going to finish what we started?” he asked.
My heart went limp in my chest as I considered his offer but a sensible part of my brain kept pushing the thoughts back.
