Chapter 58
Shantelle’s POV
“Where are you escaping to?”
I didn’t need to turn around to know who had just spoken to me. His voice I could recognize even in my dreams. He was here. He was in my house. I couldn’t turn around because he would know what was wrong with me before I could hide my emotions.
“Shantelle?” he called out. “Are you going to look at me, or do I need to turn around?” He was sincere about what he was saying to me.
I didn’t want him to see me this way. I was vulnerable. He didn’t need to know that I needed space. I didn’t know where I was escaping to; going far away from the house was the first thing on my mind.
“Seven?” I turned. “Why are you in my house?”
It was funny that my mind didn’t think he was going to notice my absence. I almost thought he would have moved on from me. He should have done that. I had too much baggage that I wasn’t ready to share with anyone for now. That was all I could say now.
