Chapter 83
Shantelle’s POV
“I have to go,” I said. Mama would be so worried about where I was, and I felt calmer now. If I stayed here any longer, we would end up repeating what had happened some minutes ago. I wouldn’t be able to stop myself. I was attracted to him, and there was no point in hiding it. He wasn’t looking at me; it was funny because I would have sworn that when I said I wanted to leave, he was attentive.
“I have to go,” I repeated, this time standing up. It wouldn’t help if I kept sitting and telling him I wanted to leave when I was very sure I was just saying that so my resolve wouldn’t fail me.
“Why?” Seven asked, looking at me like he didn’t want me to go, but he knew I couldn’t stay. It was funny because when I came here, it didn’t seem like he was ready to see me. He had always been surprised by my guts; he just didn’t say it to me, but he always had that look on his face.
