Seven’s POV
“I have to go.” I heard her the first time, but I wasn’t ready for her to leave. She didn’t look like she was ready to do that, but duty called, and she had to respond to it. Shantelle hadn’t even let me know she was coming over. I would have asked her not to come; I would have given her reasons why she should stay in the hospital. Or we would have met up somewhere else, I was very sure of that. I could have sent her back immediately when I saw her standing at my door. I wasn’t embarrassed by the fact that I was naked under the covers and she was fully clothed.
She had duties to perform, and I wouldn’t be the one stopping her from doing them. If she wanted to go back, I would have to take her back—that was for sure—but my inner self wouldn’t let me be if I didn’t try to see if she wanted to stay.
