Chapter 149. Can I Hold You?
Marissa moved as far as possible from him, with her back to him, as she moved as close as possible to the wall. She could feel the cool wall against her chest, and she quickly suppressed the shudder that ran through her. There was no way she was going to allow him to laugh at her. As it was, she could feel his eyes boring holes into her head already, but she wasn't going to tell him to stop staring.
She knew she should tell him to switch off the light or something, but she wasn't going to be the first person to talk to him—not after she had made it clear that she wanted no interaction.
She also wasn't going to stand up to do it. That would mean seeing his face again and the amused, arrogant look that would surely be on his face right now. No, she would have to make do without the muted lights in her room tonight.
