Chapter 150. Blinding Light
"He had to be somewhere here; yes, he can't be far now," Marissa thought as she moved hurriedly along the hall. Her bare feet were getting numbed by the cold tiles. The coldness of the tiles was enhanced by the fog that dogged her footsteps. The sinister fog seems to rise and curl against the hem of her robe, then recede, only to come back.
Marissa was not paying much attention to that, though, as her attention was focused on the dark corridor ahead. The hall was hugely lit, though the fog made It darker. The corridor ahead was pitch black.
Marissa couldn't think much about that, though. She was so sure that he was there. Her son was certainly waiting for her on the other side.
She quickened her pace.
"I just have to get to that corridor," she repeated in her head as she rushed blindly to it. The nipping fog at her feet seemed to slow her down more, as it seemed to suck the energy out of her legs. It seemed like she was not moving at all.
