Johanna nodded once again, quickly.
“Yes, I remember seeing something on the news,” she added. “I wondered how much of everything that was said was true and how much was what your father’s people had fabricated for the press.”
“And what you probably don’t know is that two journalists from an independent network got inside the villa: they had the bad sense to jump over the wall right behind Duncan’s cabin. That forced us to reinforce security on the perimeter; Toshi traveled only to improve our surveillance system. For a few days we were an ‘attraction’ for the people of Krasnoyarsk. Nika and Chris took charge of security, then Duncan signed up and they naturally took him on as the senior in command… it was good for all three of them.
