Chapter 20

“Vance, where is my dad?” Zeke asked as soon as he entered the house and caught up with his uncle, who was watching the TV.

“He’s in the secret room. Why?”

“Do you know anything about the bodies discovered in the woods?”

“How do I know? I’m too busy training and tracking down that pesky Reuben!” Vance exclaimed. He drank from the beer can.

“Apparently, one of my classmate’s sisters was discovered dead in the woods, and the suspect is not human.”

Zeke stood in front of the television to prevent Vance from watching and concentrating on what he was saying.

“Come on, Zeke! This is the only time I have to rest, so please don’t mock me! Wait for your father to come out from his den!” The dissatisfaction with Vance’s appearance is evident.

“What’s wrong?” Zoren asked, hearing the two arguments.

“Dad, the police discovered corpses in the forest, and I have a strong suspicion that wolves will survive!” Zeke declared.

“I’m already aware of
