Chapter 125

Sophia’s POV

We arrived at the field of Mephistopheles finally. It reeked of dead men’s corpses and we could see vultures flying around and treating the bodies of once able-bodied people as carrion. It was a hellish sight to behold but it was one hell of a sight, I must say. So we ventured into the field, and started to investigate the field for any possible clues as to where the supposed gates were to be located.

The field was bare and there were no clues or landmarks that could even remotely suggest that any gates existed anywhere within the field. We continued our search, flipping rocks, analyzing the color of the dirt and some other weird stuff that seemed more to me like a geology class than like a serious mission.

“Man I’m beat!” Elijah yelled, flinging a stone away in the process, “so much for gates, I’m just goanna walk right through the entire field and I don’t give a fuck what happens anymore,” he added as he stormed right through the field.
