Sophia’s POV

The two of them soon vanished out of our sight and I could still hear the sound of their petty squabbles down the hallway. Then I noticed that Lucas had been staring at me all along. I was a bit startled, I must say. He always seemed to take me by surprise with that seductive look in his eyes. I was beginning to suspect that he had deliberately separated us from James and Camilla with ulterior motives.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” I asked, feeling shy.

“Because you’re beautiful obviously,” Lucas replied with an alluring smirk on his face. On hearing the word beautiful, my face became red with embarrassment.

“Are you blushing?” he asked, while bringing his face to mine and making eye contact with me.

“No I’m not!” I retorted and this time, I could literally feel the blood rushing through my veins. I didn’t need a mirror to know that my face was red as chili.
