Chapter 50

"What was that between you and Tessa?" Chester asked as I sat down on my desk. I loosened my tie a bit from my neck and took in a deep breath.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I feigned ignorance.

"You know what I'm talking about Caden. I'm not talking to you as your secretary but as your friend Caden. You look nervous and unsettled, I know that behaviour, it's when you are nervous," Chester said. I cleared my throat repeatedly and removed my tie.

I was acting like a teenage boy that just got caught cheating on his girlfriend.

I thought I was able to pull it off and deceive Chester into thinking nothing happened but I guess I was wrong. Chester was rather sharp and observant.
