Chapter 35. Returning Home with His Family
After tucking the children into bed, by the time Victoria was free, Ryan had already fallen asleep. She quietly changed into her pajamas and lay down next to him. Turning towards him, Victoria watched him sleep, her heart swelling with love for him. She had no idea how she had spent three years without him, but now, seeing him again, lying there beside her, she felt an urge to touch him. She still loved him so much! Did he love her even a bit? Suddenly, his face scrunched up with pain and he tossed and turned as if experiencing a bad dream.
“Please don’t go Victoria, please don’t leave me,” he mumbled in his sleep. Then he stretched his arms as if to stop her. “I need you, don’t go,” he cried in his sleep, tears falling from his eyes. Victoria was stunned by what she saw. She placed her hand in his hair and stroked him softly. Soon, he calmed down and went back to sleep. Victoria sighed and removed her hand.
