Chapter 31. Longing to Spend Time Alone

They left Nate to woo his Claire and went to check out a few attractions that New York had to offer. They took a boat trip to check out the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to explore the Immigration Museum there. It was a novel experience for Alexis. Having lived a sheltered life, she hardly got a chance to visit places. Money had always been a constraint all her life, even when her parents had been alive. So she was ecstatic. Her eyes widened as she took pictures of everything she saw. It seemed as if Andrea, too, was seeing everything for the first time! 

“Let’s take a picture of the two of you,” said Andrea excitedly, pushing Alexis towards Drake. Drake laughed and caught her while Andrea clicked a picture of them. They went to a cozy pizza joint for a late lunch.

“So, when are you announcing your wedding?” asked Aries curiously.

“I wouldn’t want to rush Alexis. Whenever she’s ready, we could go ahead,” said Drake.
