“If only I could go with you, I would have…”

I put my index finger on her soft lips to refrain her words from going. We don’t have time to waste as instructed by the old wizard of our Kingdom, Maleficus. So before sunset, we must leave and start the journey to the Western region. My hands tremble as I slowly trace the outline of her jaw.

Ashley lowered her face but I cup her chin and meet her eyes. “Take care of yourself my love, and if there is anything unusual call Beta Derek immediately. He will stay vigilant and prepared at all times, especially for you.”
