Chapter 40. A Dangerous Escape

Carmela’s POV

I was deeply worried with what happened during the ceremony, when Jack and Alpha Zero almost fought because of Beta Matias. Oh! He isn’t Beta anymore, his family was immediately branded as the traitors. He betrayed his Alpha, and now his entire bloodline suffers in return.

After the pledge of alliance was done, Jack had been busy with the pack. Regarding his duties as the King Alpha, that it almost took our time together alone. Although his father the former King, is there to guide him through as the head of his council but Jack have still a ton of work to do. That it has been three days since the last time we had a meal together.

“Queen Luna, the dinner is ready.” Cory’s voice have disturbed me from my thoughts, so it’s about time for dinner but Jack is not yet home. He had been coming to our chambers so late in the night and then going away early in the morning.

“I’ll be there in a second.” I replied and heard her footsteps going away.<
