I could feel Killian’s gaze on me. I couldn’t think straight; my mind just kept repeating the word over and over again. Mistress.
“I’m sorry, I might have been a bit harsh in my delivery, but I am rather confused. Am I the only one who sees the disrespect in the fact that Killian’s ex-girlfriend, and who I believe was his fiancée, is currently seated at the same table as us?” Claude spoke, his eyes darting toward Killian and me.
Killian let out a low growl—he was warning him. Claude knew. He knew Natalia. He knew what her presence here would do. Everyone at the table knew, yet somehow a complete stranger was the only one to state the obvious.
