It was silent. No one spoke, nor did they want to. I deserved this. Somehow, I’d been too blind to even see what was right in front of me. The memory of it all kept haunting me. All I could see was the hurt in her eyes as the rain collided with her skin and the gash on her neck that Natalia had given her. I should have listened, but I was too absorbed with my own insecurities to notice it all.

Everyone had filed into the great dining hall. The round table was filled with brooding wolves and Seelies. Natalia had resorted to crying and pleading, trying to manipulate her way out of it. She’d tried to run, not caring if she would harm my child in the process of her shifting.
