I knew the dangers of a mate bond more than anyone else. I also knew that Aurora had always wanted a mate. She’d spent years trying to find one, and when she did, he turned out to be a manipulative bastard who only used her. But something wasn’t adding up in this story. Yes, she’d found out that Jeffrey was her mate, and they ran away together, and he betrayed her and all that—but there was something missing.
