Chapter 67
Everyone has that one place they simply love. For my father and me, it was the Seyinra Waterfalls, at the edge of the border between the Elven Woods and the Dark Woods. The place was green, with creatures running around and wildflowers everywhere you looked. At night, when there was a full moon—just like tonight—the waters changed color and became a bright silver. Father stood at the farthest edge of the cliff, staring down at the inky dark pool below. He hadn’t talked much all day, and whenever I asked him if something was wrong, he would just smile and change the topic. He looked sad; his frown grew deeper and deeper as the hours passed.
He had later asked me to visit the waterfall with him because he needed to tell me something important. He never did this—he had always spoken freely. He had always said what he wanted to say there and then, never hiding the most important parts.
