Chapter 57. Fear

Cybele stood up slowly with the others and couldn't understand why they had stopped. They made their way through the crowd and as they walked towards the palace, they noticed many dead bodies on the ground. They themselves, with broken limbs, deep cuts and covered in blood. That's how they entered the lobby.

Gael was still on the ground, and Bruma was tending to him. The bodies of Aurora and Gael's parents lay on the floor. There was no one else there, and when the gazes of Gael's two wives met, there was no surprise in either of them.

"What happened?" Elena asked. "I thought Gael had used Alpha's authority to stop that... I don't even know what that was..."

"A massacre..." Emma said smiling.

"I've never killed anyone before, and it doesn't feel good, but knowing that we put ourselves on the line to defend what we believe in is wonderful!" Catlyn said, and everyone agreed.
