Chapter 14

“Mireya...” I say as I open the door and see her. I wasn’t expecting a visit from my boss, and my surprised face was genuine. I assumed that, before coming, she would call first. She comes with a gift and I don’t know if I like the detail, or if it bothers me because she’s keeping an eye on me. It’s the same here as in the old house, he watches my every step. I don’t like it.

“May I come in?” he asks me. My smile can be described in many ways, but the one that fits best is fake.

He just smiled falsely

I don’t want her here. Not with Sofia at home...
