“I was raped so many times, in the most humiliating, terrible, and savage ways, that I can’t have children. I couldn’t even say the number of times... it’s impossible.” He joins in and pours himself another glass of whiskey, and finishes it in one gulp. “One night, a man showed up to pay for my services. I was tired but I had no other way out either, but that night was different. That man gave me the gift of freedom. I learned that he was found dead in a ditch days after I escaped. It hurt me, you know?” she smiles sadly. “That man allowed me to escape from that life, but he couldn’t make it. He was killed for helping me. I was on the street, alone, without a peso, without anyone... so I started selling d***s. First, I started hustling people on the street. I wasn’t bad at it, so between what I stole and what I swindled, I bought d***s and sold them. Little by little, I was earning money. My first purchase was a gun. I went back to that place...”
