Chapter 18
It was dawn, and the light coming through the window woke me up. I stayed in bed for a while; I didn’t feel like starting the day. I didn’t want to get out of my bed, out of my house... but life is not as easy as that.
After a quick shower, I have breakfast with Sofia already dressed to go out. She stays home, tired from yesterday’s party, and doesn’t protest when I tell her she can’t come with me. That’s all I needed.
I don’t like to leave my baby alone, but I haven’t had time to hire someone. I want someone to take care of my house and my daughter in my absence, but choosing someone I trust is complicated.
I get into my car, still in the garage, and before I start it, I gather my thoughts for a few minutes. Before going to the neighborhood, I stop at a store and buy lots and lots of food, clothes of all kinds, boots, and toys. They loaded my car with everything I bought.
