Chapter 25
We enter his house, and he turns on a light. She leans against the front door, closing it with that act. I turn and look into her eyes.
That woman drives me crazy with her manners, with her comings and goings, with that insufferable character. She’s always in charge... I smile. It’s not a friendly smile; it’s a smile that turns me into a predator. She looks back at me but seems confused.
I am not going to ask.
I rest my hands on either side of her head against the door and move closer to her. She is waiting for me to kiss her, and she comes closer to my mouth; she wants to kiss me, but I don’t let her. She’s going to protest; I see it and anticipate it. I shake my head, and her look turns to hate, which makes me laugh.
My daughter makes her angry, and she innocently tries to slap me, but I grab her wrist with my hand. She tries with the other, and suddenly, she is immobilized. She’s going to speak again, she’s going to protest, she’s going to give me an order
