Chapter 35
We woke up almost at noon. I had a terrible hangover, and I drank less than the others. They must be in the shit. I don’t know why I woke up since I didn’t set the alarm clock; I guess some unexpected noise, I don’t know.
Before I know it, I have my daughter jumping on my bed and laughing. She hugs me amidst both of our laughter - how I’ve missed this! She may be all woman, as she repeated several times yesterday, but she is still the little girl I remember. It is impossible not to love her with all my being.
“Don’t move from here” he gets up and runs off. I sit up and lean my back against the headboard, waiting to see what he’s come up with. I look at the time, it’s after one o’clock noon.
“Sir,” she says, entering with a tray. “Exquisite delicacies for you,” she laughs. It’s pancakes, fruit, juice, coffee, and, very attentive my girl, the medication I’m due, which, moreover, will help me with the headache I have.
“We’re already having breakfast downstairs.
