Chapter 24
Myan had tried to keep calm the entire time, fearing that Ash was getting beat up, hugging her knees to her chest in her small hiding spot. She was almost good to go when the smell of smoke hit her nostrils. Where there was smoke, there had to be fire. She raised her head, wrapping her arms around her legs tighter. There was only one man of fire around.
With a gulp, she sat upright and stood to her feet. Although Ash had ordered her not to take a step from her hiding place, she really wanted to see for herself what he had done.
As soon as she stood erect, a strong grip took firm hold of her wrist, and she had to hold back from screaming.
Ash was back, and he was taking off faster than ever.
“What did you do?” She summoned the courage to ask, wondering why they were running in an unknown direction and not the way they had come.
“Just think fast and come with me,” he said instead.
