I slam my head against the table. I knew being Luna of the Imperial Pack was going to be a challenge, but this feels impossible.

Before I arrived, they had done a great job of surviving without contact from the outside world. But if we are going to establish ourselves among the Gemstone Packs, we will have to learn to play nicely with others.

“The Gemstone Packs cannot be trusted,” Elder Francis growls.

I don’t lift my head off the table. “If you want to come out of hiding, we are going to have to put ourselves out there.”
