Chapter 55. Denied

Elara POV

I step into the conference room and it is fuller than what it was yesterday. Alpha Ares is still missing, and that frustrates me. I hate that he is on the run after what he has done. But the room isn’t void of my enemies. In his place are the chosen mates of the triplets.

All three are glaring at me, and Sabrina’s nostrils flare when Zane walks in behind me. He is still in the same clothes from yesterday, and he smells like a brewery.

He moves to sit beside me, and I grit my teeth together. “Go sit with your mate,” I grind out.

“I am,” he replies.

Sabrina growls, and Zeke’s mate squeezes her hand in comfort. This is going to be a long morning.

“I think this meeting is pretty cut and dry,” Alpha Boyle speaks. “The Imperial Pack wants to be aligned with the Gemstone Packs, and it should not be allowed.”

“What?” I laugh. “Who put you in charge of all the Gemstone Packs? Don’t the rest have a say?”
