Chapter 48. Out Of The Forest

Zeus POV

The sun shines through the window of our SUV, and I groan loudly. My head is pounding, like I was up all night drinking. I squint against the light and look around.

“Where the fuck are we?” I groan.

Zeke and Zane appear to be just as hungover as I am. Zane rubs his head and stares out the window.

“Did we go camping?” Zeke mutters.

‘‘I don’t think we made it out of the car,” Zane laughs. “How drunk were we?”

“I can hear my heartbeat in my head,” I groan. “We must have been wasted.”

“We should get home,” Zeke grumbles. “Mom and Dad are probably worried.”

Zeke starts the SUV and pulls away from the edge of the forest. I stare out of the window, and I can’t help but feel like we are leaving something important behind.

“Wait,” I shout. “We are forgetting something.”

“What could we possibly be forgetting?” Zane laughs. “The three of us are all here.”
