Chapter 57. Later

Elara POV

We pass through the gates of the Obsidian pack, and I feel physically ill. I never thought I would return to this place, which is, by all accounts, my home. Alpha Owen and Luna Lillian raised me with the same love they gave the triplets, but that feels like a lifetime ago. I do not feel the warmth of nostalgia when I see the pack house. Instead, I long for the comfort and security of the Imperial Pack.

Alpha Owen and Luna Lillian are waiting on the front porch. Lillian is wringing her hands together nervously. I am not sure how much she has been told, and frankly, I am scared of her anger. But I know I deserve any hatred that may come my way. I did not handle things like an adult three years ago.

The triplets exit their SUV with their mates at their sides. All but Zeus. His mate is nowhere to be seen. Luna Lillian embraces them all warmly, and a pang of jealousy hits my chest when she holds Rose close to her chest.
