"Scarlett?" Jerry called, and Scarlett looked around to see his gaze along with a few others in the room directed at her. She raised her hand to massage her forehead, unable to recall the topic of conversation that had slipped away as her mind drifted. 

"It appears that you are too tired to absorb what we are discussing." He indicated, and his gaze revealed his worry. 

"The meeting is over," he announced to the others present, prompting them to stand and leave the room, which left the two of them by themselves. Jerry stood up and moved closer to her, while she looked at him in silence. 

“What’s the matter?” he inquired, yet she remained silent. "I understand that I have created plenty of excuses for you, and they have always been for a valid reason. However, I need you to share what is happening so I do not feel like this is futile."
