Chapter 37. Bullies at the Office

“We worked hard to get this post. How can someone as inexperience as this get here so fast?” one female colleague said at the office, the next day as Alexa reported for duty and was introduced to the rest of the staff by Mr. Potter.

“But you should know how she got here,” another chimed in. “She must have bribed the boss with her body. How else could a newbie like her acquire such a position of top designer without starting out first as an apprentice designer like we all did!” Her comment made them all laugh.

“If you are going to be in this section for top designers,” one of them who was referred to as Miss Elaina Reeds started, “then you should be ready to work!” Then throwing a heap of files on her desk, she continued, “Make sure you finish this before close of work today!”

Alexa had decided not to rise to their bait by responding to their taunts about her morality but all this work? How was she going to have the time to go pick her children up from school and ta
